Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar, an American and British sitar artist. She is the youngest female and was the first person to be awarded an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka is the rising star in Indian sitar. She is the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982. In her first years she split between London New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. At the age of 13, she finished her high school education within Encinitas CA. Anouskha was only 17 years old, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She has been accompanying her father in the stage for a long time. She released her debut solo album Anourag in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. She's performed in all major venues around the globe. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't limited to the music industry. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The Love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which gives a special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. The year 2003 saw her appeared as a character in Dance Like a Man as an actress and Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shakar's profession will only continue to grow and grow. We can look forward to seeing many interesting things coming from her. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her early days between London, Delhi and California. When she was 9 She began studying the piano with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar took place at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she gained many experiences. While still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. She was the first woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament to recognize her talent and musicianship in performing in the Asian Arts.
