Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. It is widely believed that she was the one who initiating the contemporary science-based study of children's witness memory as well as child victimes as witness in lawful circumstances. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer, has won numerous awards and grants. She has provided policy and research consultations to many agencies and departments across the world. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of numerous professional associations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
